“FIRST CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN” is a poem written by Albert S. Reitz many years ago. A few days after his wife’s funeral, Jim Bray was at her parents’ house when his daughter Sarah came suddenly bursting into the room where he was and excitedly said, “Dad, you’ve got to read this poem in the Bible Broadcasting Network’s newsletter called ‘First Christmas in Heaven’! It sounds just like mom wrote it!!” After reading the poem, he agreed and was so impressed with it that he decided to put the words to music.
It’s the perfect song to comfort believers who’ve had a loved one go to be with the Lord and have their “First Christmas in Heaven.” This CHOIR and SOLO arrangement (also with a violin or flute obbligato) was written by Jim Bray, and the piano accompaniment was written by Glenn Christianson.
