Many people say, “No one can be 100% sure of going to Heaven.” But the Bible clearly promises that we can be 100% sure of Heaven!  Where does the Bible say that?

“For  I   know   that  my  Redeemer liveth, ...And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh  shall  I  see God:”  — Job 19:25-26

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know  that ye have  eternal  life...”  — I John 5:13

First, notice that it clearly says that you can “know” (not hope or guess) that you have eternal life!

Second, notice that only those who “believe” can be 100% sure of salvation (eternal life in Heaven).

Third, since the Bible contains hundreds of verses in which God promises eternal life to those who believe, and since  we know  God  never  breaks any promise He makes, then we can be 100% sure of Heaven!

OK, but “HOW can we be 100%  sure?”

The Old Testament and New Testament both clearly teach that you must do two things to be 100% sure of heaven and guarantee you eternal life!

The Bible says that (1) you must “believe” and
(2) you must “repent.”   Jesus Himself said,

“...repent ye, and believe the gospel.”  — Mark 1:15

You Must Believe

To  be 100% SURE  of  Heaven,  there are several  things you must believe:

(1) BELIEVE YOU ARE A SINNER.

“All we like sheep have gone astray...”  — Isaiah 53:6

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”  — Romans 3:23

(2) BELIEVE YOU DESERVE DEATH IN HELL AS THE PENALTY FOR YOUR SIN.

“The soul that sinneth, it shall die.”  — Ezekiel 18:20

“The wicked shall be turned into Hell...”  — Psalm 9:17

“For the wages of sin is death...”   — Romans 6:23
“...fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell.”    — Matthew 10:28

(3) BELIEVE YOU CAN’T SAVE YOURSELF FROM THIS PENALTY OR EARN YOUR
WAY TO HEAVEN BY GOOD DEEDS!

“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags...”  — Isaiah 64:6

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.”  — Ephesians 2:8-9

It is the LORD alone who can save you, so you can’t help earn your salvation by the good you do
(church attendance, baptism, morality, etc.)!

(4) BELIEVE That Jesus CHRIST IS the PROMISEd MESSIAH and SAVIOuR,
and GOD THE SON!
(He fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies below.)

“But thou, Bethlehem...out of thee shall He come forth unto me that is to be ruler...Whose [Jesus’] goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”  — Micah 5:2

“...Jesus was born in Bethlehem...”  — Matthew 2:1

“...the Lord...shall give you a sign;...a virgin shall  conceive, and bear a son, ...call His name  Immanuel.” (Immanuel means “GOD with us.”)  — Isaiah 7:14

“...the birth of Jesus Christ...his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came
together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.”  — Matthew 1:18

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given...His name shall be...The mighty God...”
— Isaiah 9:6

“...the great God and our Saviour, Jesus Christ...”  — Titus 2:13

(5) BELIEVE CHRIST loves you, so he DIED, WAS BURIED, and ROSE AGAIN
to PAY your sin’s death PENALTY.

“...Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us...a sacrifice to God...”  — Ephesians 5:2

“...He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities...and the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”       — Isaiah 53:5-6

“...Christ died for our sins...”  — I Cor. 15:3

“For Thou wilt not leave my soul in Hell; neither wilt thou suffer [or allow] thine Holy One to see corruption.” (Christ’s body wouldn’t decay in the grave, but be raised.) — Psa. 16:10

“...He  was  buried, and...He rose again  the  third day...”  — I Corinthians 15:4

(6) BELIEVE CHRIST IS THE ONLY  WAY  TO SALVATION and TO GOD THE FATHER.

“...He bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”  — Isaiah 53:12

“...He is able...to save them...that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.”  — Hebrews 7:25

Jesus saith...I am the way... no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”  — John 14:6

YOU MUST REPENT
To repent means:
1) You’ve changed your mind about what you believe and trust in for salvation (from trusting in your own goodness and efforts to “earn” salvation, to trusting in Christ’s goodness and death to earn salvation for you as a free gift through His grace and mercy)!
2) You’ve changed your mind about the
direction you want to go in life in relation to sin and Christ (from wanting to enjoy sin and please yourself, to wanting to avoid sin and please Christ)! We don’t have to quit sin to be saved, but we must want to quit; be serious with God,
sorry for sin, and wanting a change!

“Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions;...and make you a new heart and a new spirit...”  — Ezekiel 18:30-31

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out...”  — Acts 3:19

If a person has truly repented and been saved, then there will begin to be a change in his life thereafter!

“Therefore if any man be in Christ [Christian], he is a new creature [person]: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”                — II Corinthians 5:17

The person who truly repents wants a change in his life. After you turn to and call on Christ, you’ll have that change in your life because you’ll receive not only salvation but also the strength to change! Perhaps you want to follow Christ but hesitate to call on Him because you’re afraid you don’t have the strength to quit your sin and live the Christian life. But the real question is, do you want to? If so, trust Christ now to save you from the penalty of your sin, and after you’re saved, from its power (addiction)!

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”  —Philippians 4:13

If you believe these things, and if you repent in your heart, then right now you can call on Christ to save you.  Here’s how:
CALL  ON  CHRIST
To call on Christ simply means to tell Him  in
a simple prayer that (1) you believe these things, and (2) you repent in your heart and call on Him
to save you!

“As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD  shall  save me.”  — Psalm 55:16

“I  will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.”  — Psalm 116:13

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. ”  — Romans 10:13

First, notice it says “whosoever,” which means anyone, including YOU!

Second, notice it says to call on the “Lord.”  Only the LORD can save you, NOT the Lord PLUS your own efforts to “earn salvation” by your good deeds!

Third, it promises that whoever calls on Christ “shall be saved” (not “maybe”)!

That’s God’s 100% sure promise!
If you do believe and repent, why not call on Christ right now as you pray this prayer in your heart:

“Dear Jesus, I believe that I’m a sinner, that I deserve death in Hell as the penalty for my sin, and that I can’t save myself or earn salvation by my good deeds. But I believe that you are God, and the  Messiah and Saviour who loved me and died to pay my death penalty, that you were buried, and  rose again from the dead, and that only you can save me. I repent in my heart, and want to obey you the best I can with your help. So right now, Jesus, I call on you to save my soul from death, and give me the free gift of eternal life in Heaven!  Thank you for saving me, and help me understand my Bible as I read it daily!  Amen.”

Dear friend, if you prayed this prayer and meant it, you can be 100% sure you’re saved, based on God’s promises in these verses! Please contact us below about your decision or questions you might have.
